unique jewellery.
Our unique jewellery captures the essence of nature. The seeds for each piece are cast only once so each piece is completely unique. No trees are harmed in the process, all seeds are collected from the floor.
sustainable practices.
We use recycled metals as much as possible and our packaging is completely plastic free and eco-friendly. Our boxes are FSC-certified, our business cards are made with 100% recycled paper and our display cards are made with handmade recycled paper. All scrap metal is recycled into future casts.
thoughtfully handcrafted.
All pieces are hand selected, the casting process is performed by professionals. The casts are then cleaned, filed, soldered and polished by me in my home studio in Australia.
Once the seeds are collected I drop them off to a caster where they turn the seeds into metal using the ancient technique of lost wax casting. Each seed produces one piece, so they are all completely unique. From the raw cast I then saw off the sprues, sand the pieces and solder either a jump ring (for earrings) or a piece of metal (for rings and pendants). Then they are cleaned and polished and sent to your homes. All scrap metal from sprues are collected and recycled into future casts.
location
I collect the plants from various regions in NSW, Australia.
I am constantly looking out for new plants to work with. If you have a particular plant in mind that you can’t find in our shop, send me an email to enquire about a commission.
FAQS
What hoop size should I get?
There are 4 options available including 8mm hoops, 10mm hoops, 12mm hoops and hooks. The 8mm hoops are a good size for some of our smaller styles, however if your earlobes are on the smaller side I would recommend getting 10 or 12mm hoops. If you are purchasing a medium-large earring I would recommend going no less than the 10mm hoops. For larger and longer styles such as the larger gum nuts (spotted gum earrings) or the long Norfolk Island pine earrings, I would recommend getting the hooks.
For each product will the shape be exactly the same in each order?
No, the shape will be similar but not exactly the same. This is because I don’t create moulds of the pieces. Instead I hand collect every piece and since everything in nature has variations, so does the jewellery. The main reason I do it this way is to make each piece unique and one of a kind even if they are from the same plant species. The image shows the specific piece you will be receiving to avoid disappointment.
Do you Ship worldwide? How much does shipping cost?
Yes! We offer worldwide shipping, as long as your country can accept international mail.
Standard shipping within Australia is $8.95 and express shipping is $12.95. All other countries have a standard shipping cost of $25 and $42 for express shipping.
Do you accept commissions? What is the process?
I am currently open for commissions. Not all commission requests will be approved depending on the type piece being requested. If the request is a plant I already use but for example is only available as an earring and you wanted it as a pendant, that is do-able. If your request is an entirely new plant, I would need to ensure that it is able to be cast before approving the request. Please find more information here.
What metals do you use?
I work mainly in sterling silver and 9ct solid gold. I don’t make gold filled or gold plated jewellery because my intention is to create lasting pieces that you can wear everyday without a problem. They still require care as both metals do tarnish, however they last much longer than gold plated jewellery. Solid materials can also be recycled when they are no longer being used which is important to me.
What is your returns policy?
If you are unhappy with your purchase we are happy to offer a store credit or exchange. Please remember when purchasing from us that all casts are completely unique and full of different textures and shapes. The pieces are rarely symmetrical because nature is rarely symmetrical.
