Hormosira Ring I
This unique ring was cast from Neptune's Necklace seaweed (Hormosira banksii). Neptune's Necklace is a very common seaweed in Sydney, and other parts of temperate Australia forming part of the Great Southern Reef. You may recognise it from low tide zones at the beach, like in rock pools. This ring is perfect for everyday wear, but can also be a subtle statement piece worn for a special occasion. Each piece is different as they are only cast once using the ancient technique of lost wax casting. We handmade these in our Sydney Studio from recycled sterling silver, and hope that you will enjoy wearing your piece of the sea.
The ring you will receive are the ones pictured.
Collection Site: Dharawal Country (Cronulla Beach, Australia)
Species: Scientific name - Hormosira banksii, Common names - Neptune's Necklace, Bubbleweed and Sea Grapes
