Phyllospora Drop Earrings I
These unique earrings were cast from a Crayweed gasbladder (Phyllospora comosa). Crayweed is a very common seaweed in Sydney after being recently restored, and can also be found in other parts of south-eastern Australia forming part of the Great Southern Reef. You may recognise it from being washed up on the beach, or forming beautiful reefs to swim and snorkel on. These earrings are the perfect statement piece, especially due to their organic, asymmetrical style. They are also very lightweight. Each piece is unique as they are only cast once using the ancient technique of lost wax casting. We handmade these in our Sydney Studio from recycled sterling silver, and hope that you will enjoy wearing your piece of the sea.
The earrings you will receive are the ones pictured.
Collection Site: Dharawal Country (Cronulla Beach, Australia)
Species: Scientific name - Phyllospora comosa, Common names - Crayweed
